Exxentric Flywheel Training at Prototype Sports Performance gym

What is Exxentric: Why we love FlyWheel Training

The Exxentric KPully is amazing for adding flywheel training into your routine.

Exxentric (not eccentric) is a company that makes training tools that uses flywheel technology instead of weight for resistance. At PSP we LOVE our KPulley for our athlete development, wellness and rehab client.

The KPulley gives us the versatility of movement of a cable machine, but with the novel stimulus of flywheel training.

What is Flywheel training good for?

Flywheel training can help with developing power, endurance and control depending on how you use it.

The ‘Spin” On Flywheel Training

Ultimately flywheel training is something you need to experience to understand. That muscle recruitment, and body control it elicits is unlike any free weight or standard cable machine you have used in the past. The harder you work, the harder it works against you, forcing you to adapt your output to match.

Unlike free weights or traditional cables where you can relax during the eccentric phase and allow gravity to do the work, when used correctly it is unrelenting in trying to pull you through the wall, or down to the floor. This challenges you to work even harder during the eccentric portion of movements and use your whole body to stabilize.
